stop cc'ing messages
I recently changed my TB from pop to imap. Now when I use 'reply all' TB automatically sends a cc of that message to me. In my account settings under copies and folders I'm asking that a copy of a sent message be placed in the "sent" folder. Is this what's causing TB to cc every 'reply all' message? I'd like TB not to do that.
thanks

So instead of you simply having a mail account in thunderbird that downloads the [email protected] emails into it's own mail account, you are forwarding all those emails into verizon and then downloading them into a versizon mail account.
Try adding the [email protected] email address as an additional identity to the verizon mail account.
- Right click on 'verizon' mail account in Folder Pane and select 'Settings'
- Account Settings window opens
- click on 'Manage Identities...' button
- click on 'Add'
- Enter details for the [email protected] email address.
- click on all 'OK's.

re :I'm asking that a copy of a sent message be placed in the "sent" folder. Is this what's causing TB to cc every 'reply all' message? No.
When you received the original email, was your email address in a TO field and you were the only recipient of email OR When you received the original email, was your email address in a Cc field and another person was in the TO field; basically you were one of several people to receive the email?
Thanks for your reply. I looked at two emails:
In the first I was one of the people to whom the message was sent, I was not cc'd. When I choose 'reply all' I find I am one of the recipients.
In the second, I am cc'd on the incoming email. When I use 'reply all' I'm also listed as a recipient.
So it doesn't seem to matter if the email is to me or if I'm cc'd, the reply all function makes me a recipient also.
One wrinkle: I'm using my verizon.net address for email service, but someone receiving my emails will see a different reply to address. That address then forwards the mail to my verizon/AOL account.
Do I understand you correctly.... the Cc'd email address is not your Thunderbird mail account email address?
Right. For my FROM address I'm using Verizon/AOL as my email provider, so the address on the IMAP account reflects that, but I want all REPLY TO mail to go to a different address, [email protected] When I REPLY ALL, my [email protected] address is automatically added to the list of recipients.
thanks!
I hope you can help me!

That looks like it solved the problem, thank you!
Sorry, I spoke too soon. It's solved one error but created another. Is there a way I could privately send you screenshots of what's going on in send windows and account settings window?
thanks,
re :It's solved one error but created another.
What error did it correct? What is the new error ? You could send images to me: mail at anje dot co dot uk Please note, I will post all comments in this forum question.
Thanks, I'll send you screenshots in a moment. The error it corrected was that, when I chose 'reply all' it doesn't also add my own address. The error it caused was the email does not go through. Instead TB shows a notice saying "An error occurred while sending mail. The mail server responded request failed mailbox unavailable. Please verify that the email address is correct in your account settings and try again." thanks,
Just sent you an email, thanks
