Installed & set up 2 e-mail accounts. Nothing happens when I click on inbox or menu.
After setting up new Thunderbird installation with two e-mail accounts successfully (all folders and message counts are correct), the Thunderbird window has the e-mail accounts and folders in the left pane (as expected) and calendar in the right (OK), but the middle pane only has "set up an account" and "create a new calendar". Clicking on any folder does nothing. Clicking on menu symbol does nothing. Top line has "get messages" and "write" greyed out; "chat" and "address book" are not, but clicking on them does nothing. I think only functional links are "set up an account" and "create a new calendar". How can I get to my e-mails?

Check: Access your Firewall which may be part of your Anti-Virus software product. Thunderbird must be an allowed program.
Does exiting and restarting Thunderbird work ?
Does starting up Thunderbird in Safe Mode work ? https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/safe-mode-thunderbird

Check your IMAP Settings

Manually Configure your Settings
The connection to the e-mail accounts is working; all folders are shown, and the unread message count in Inbox is correct. The problem is, there is nothing that happens when I click on ANYTHING except "set up an account". There is no area in the Thunderbird window for e-mail messages, only the folders on the left side. The menu does not work. There is no "tools". The Alt key does nothing.

Restarting Thunderbird fixed it. Thank you.
