Password worked in the past. Tried using Password manager to edit password but this did not worked. Used Email providers server password but that did not work. Am no longer able to access email on Thunderbird.

The password you use to access webmail account in the browser is usually the password used in Thunderbird to access server.

what server are you using ? gmail ? yahoo? etc Are you talking about an imap or pop mail account?

If you are using 2step verification then you will use normal password to access webmail and an app specific password to access Thunderbird. Are you using '2-step verification' ?

When you click on 'Get Messages' what happens? What is seen in the lower Status bar...logon, connecting , connected etc? Do you get an error message? If yes, what does it say...word for word?

First confirm you can logon to webmail server using a browser.

Can't tell if you received my previous reply where is sent the error message I received. I am using the correct password and today I was able to send an email message. I am still not able to receive an email message. Today when I went to the Password manager my passwords were no longer listed. Thanks for your help.

re: my passwords were no longer listed. Do you use a product like CCleaner? If yes, then you need to stop CCleaner having access to any Thunderbird folder or file. That product and others similar programs are known for deleting eg: password files.

re :Can't tell if you received my previous reply where is sent the error message You would have needed to have posted the image of that file in this forum question and it is not shown.
