Hi, I was working through the first page of new posts. Did you find this article by now: Install an older version of Firefox?

Hello, what is the exact name of this extension?
Text Formatting Toolbar 0.1.4.101
This was last updated 9 years ago, and is unlikely to be updated again to be compatible with WebExtensions, I will try to find an alternative for you.

Yes, I understand, but this add-on is not compatible with the new Firefox extension eco-system.
Can use google search terms : Firefox Extension <old extension name> Comparable
Seems to do ok finding stuff.
Please let us know if this solved your issue or if need further assistance.
Try this extension to replace your old one: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/markdown-here/

If you want that particular extension to run, and you want to receive security updates to Firefox, you can switch to the Extended Support Release of Firefox 52. More info: https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/organizations/faq/
Extensions for Firefox 57+ cannot create their own toolbars in the user interface area. They can insert toolbar into pages, so that might be a practical approach for an in-page editor, but I don't know how long you might have to wait for that to be posted.
PLEASE ANSWER MY PREVIOUS QUESTION. FIREFOX 57 APPEARS TO BE A BIG DOWNGRADE FROM FIREFOX 56.
Can you please post the download link for me to go back to firefox 56.
Are you there?
You have been of NO HELP AT ALL.

I have reinstalled firefox 56.0.2. This has, of course, solved the problem. There never was a problem with firefox 56.0.2. Firefox 57 appears to me to be a BIG DOWNGRADE as it doesn't provide the services and extensions that firefox 56 provides. Let me know when firefox 57 provides the extension: text formatting toolbar, if this happens I will upgrade to firefox 57.
Hi ronfraz, to be honest, I'll probably forget. Maybe you can add it to your calendar to "bump" this thread in a few weeks in case a volunteer has learned of a new extension by then.
Also, if there are particular forums that have especially deficient BBCode toolbars, you might suggest to them that they get their act together so you don't need an add-on for basic formatting.
When you lose some of your EXTENSIONS with a Firefox UPDATE, the update to Firefox 57 is clearly a DOWNGRADE from Firefox 56.0.2.
Does firefox 57.0.1 allow the extension: text formatting toolbar (https://codefisher.org/format_toolbar/)??? If so, I will update, if not I will stick with firefox 56. Please let me know.
It looks like I'm going back to firefox 56. Can't you people get your act together and give us our previous extensions???
Hi ronfraz, I realize it's frustrating but this is not a Mozilla extension, it's by someone else and it's their choice whether or how to update it.
