Hi,

I have 2 email adresses, one is configured as an alias for the other. Then I sent invitations from the calendar it always uses the primary email as the sender. This is regardless of the E-mail field in the calendar which according to the documentation: >E-Mail: This is the email address Thunderbird uses to send invitations for events. should do what I want.

I'd be grateful for a pointer,

Yours

Stefan

No - by this I mean the thunderbird function in the account settings , Its on the irst screen of the account settings in the bottom right corner. In my German version it is labeled "Weitere identitäten".

For an identity to send as such is much have it's own SMTP server. with it's own user name and password configured.

Last entry in the account settings is outgoing server (SMTP) does your alias has an SMTP distinct from the "primary" account. the outgoing SMTP can not be an outlook one or the primary user details will be substituted by outlook.com on sending the mail through the SMTP server.

We are not using outlook.com, this is a connection to a postfix server which does accept the sending of the configured alias. Both sending and receiving mails via the alias work as expected. It is just that the calendar does not honor the E-mail field as described in its documentation: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/changing-calendar-preferences Under Available options it states that: E-Mail: This is the email address Thunderbird uses to send invitations for events. This does not work as described.
