Today, Aug 15, Thunderbird could not connect to either of two server accounts I have set up. I get no error messages, it just tries to connect and never times out. This worked the night before and today does not work, so no changes to Thunderbird settings. The problem is the same with two accounts, so it is not an account/server problem. I have turned off virus and firewall with no effect. I am using Mac OS el Capitan with the latest version of Thunderbird, 52.2.1.

Again, please in the interest of time - this is not a server issue or a settings issue. I also reloaded Thunderbird and it still does not work. I have tried two different Internet connections. I get no error messages so I have no diagnostic information. It continues to attempt connection, but never times out.

Someone else must have had the exact problem so if you have gone through this, please let me know.

Thank you. Chris
