I've built a new desktop PC running Windows 7 Pro 32 bit. I've installed Firefox 44.0.2 which doesn't have any Flash support at the moment. I went into "Addons" to load Flash but it doesn't appear as an option when I search for 'Flash', 'Adobe' or 'Macromedia'. I downloaded Flash 20.0.0.36 from the Adobe website and tried to run it but it comes up with a message saying "Only a single copy of the installer can run at a time. Please close the other window and try again" and a 'Finish' button. When I click the 'Finish' button it loops back to the Adobe Download screen. There are no other windows open (except Explorer where I'm running the .exe). I tried again with Firefox closed but it made no difference.

Any ideas?

Ummm................. forget this question! I didn't do the most obvious thing, reboot! So, rebooted, ran the .exe, and the problem disappeared. I now have Flash running fine. Mind you, it's still odd that Adobe Flash didn't appear as one of the options when searching Addons for 'Flash'

If you are referring to the Get Addons panel of the Addons Manager.

The addons.mozilla.org site does not host any Plugins including ones like Flash Player, Java, Shockwave (for director) player. The addons.mozilla.org site hosts Extensions, Themes (complete and image), dictionaries, language packs.

Plugins are not installed into Firefox like Extensions and Themes are but are on system and Firefox finds and makes use of them as you can see by typing in about:plugins in Location (address) bar in Firefox.
