I have installed Thunderbird 38.3.0 in Linux mint 17.2, but for some reason I am missing the Account Settings and Options under the Tool's Tab in the Tools Bar menu. I have uninstalled and reinstalled both Thunderbird and Firefox as well as deleted my Profile, and add-ons. Note I only have add-on Mint search Enhancer and stylish both disabled in Firefox and Message Menu disabled in Thunderbird this I cannot remove.

When I reinstall both Firefox and Thunderbird, both Account Settings and Options under the Tool's Tab in the Tools Bar menu are still missing. Hence can anybody help me to restore these features in to Tool Bar?

Best Regards,

Chosen solution

Look under Edit. Account Settings and Preferences.

You can right-click an account and choose Settings, or you can left-click an account, see its summary Account Central page and select its settings there too.

And most of it can also be found under the Application Menu button; the one that looks like a hamburger.

To restore missing toolbars and menus, <alt>+v, Toolbars and tick the checkboxes. You need to repeat this in every window, as appropriate: Address Book, Write and the message reading window if you use it.

Thank you for your reply Zenos.

I am I confusing the menu layout for Linux and Windows, thinking they should be the same for both Firefox and Thunderbird when they are not in different operating systems?

I note that I can get the information I want from the Toolbar Edit menu and the Application button.

Best Regards
