Hi I am in the same situation as many others I have seen posting here. Shockwave flash is continually crashing to the extent it takes several minutes to get to the add-ons manager and disable shockwave flash. I have reinstalled all adobe plugins, so they are up to date. I am having real problems accessing a lot of web pages/web page content because with shockwave flash enabled firefox is all but frozen and with shockwave flash disabled a lot of web content isn't available.

I have looked at other threads that I found and have attempted all of the suggested solutions and have selected the Troubleshooting Information option below this text box. I have a huge list of crash reports, unfortunately I am not sure how to load them

Any suggestions appreciated

Regards.

An update; I am feeling lucky... I received an answer from the Adobe Communities :-) They basically said the Firefox-Flash problems are caused by the fact that '"The plugin architecture on Firefox dates back to the late 90's..."'

Interesting, but it doesn't really help me, we cant even start Shockwave Flash without the whole browser freezing

Hi,

I've been facing the same problem for the past two days. I've installed the latest version (16.0.0.305) and I can finally activate the Shockwave plugin but the crashing persists. My drivers are updated, hardware acceleration is disabled and so is protected mode is also disabled. Disabling protected mode actually solved the problem but is it ok to leave it disabled?

If not, here are some report ID's

Same problem. I have gone through every Firefox and Flash help I could find. Nothing has helped.

This add-on can help;

Flash block {web link} Never be annoyed by a Flash animation again! Blocks Flash so it won't get in your way, but if you want to see it, just click on it

Has everyone tried;

  • Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web Link} by holding down the <Shift>
    (Mac Options)
    key, and then starting Firefox. Is the problem still there?
  • See if there are updates for your graphics drivers
