I'm unable to view streaming video on some sites requiring authentication -- specifically watchespn.com and nbcsports.com. In the instance of the nbcsports.com site it allows me to login and authenticate and attempts to load video but rather than doing so the video area remains black and the spinner runs indefinitely. In the case of watchespn.com after authentication it won't even begin to load the video but like nbcsports.com it will run basic video in advertisements on the same page.

Some of the troubleshooting steps that I have attempted include: - Confirmed that I'm utilizing Firefox 32.0 for Linux (Mint) - Ran all potential updates for Linux Mint - Rebooted PC - Cleared Firefox cache - Reset Firefox browser settings - Confirmed that I am able to login into another sports site, foxsoccer2go.com, with Firefox on Linux and view video on that site. - Confirmed that I am able to login correctly and view the nbcsports.com and watchespn.com videos on a Windows-based PC.

This does not appear to be a malware issue as I've been also able to replicate the same issue on another Dell PC running Linux and Firefox. Any recommendations or specific additional steps that might provide further insight into this issue?

Thanks!

JP

Hi Learning Linux, From what I can tell each site uses the Flash Player, however since it is stopping at the initialization, any errors in the web console may reveal errors.

On Firefox 33, I could stream from the nbc sports site as a first time user. Since it is not a login issue, there would not be any cookie issues afaik.

There are some other steps mentioned here: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/fix-common-audio-and-video-issues

Did that help, and what errors did you see?
