disable firefox updates
It's getting pretty annoying that Firefox has to update and change the layout of the browser so frequently. I like that Firefox is adding new features, but not so great that I have to keep relearning how to use the same program. Seeing as there is no option to keep my browser looking the same, I'd like to know how to disable updates. As far as I'm concerned, Firefox isn't actually addressing any major security concerns (sorry, 'various security fixes' doesn't quite cut it for me, Firefox still doesn't support sandbox like Chrome or IE 9), so there really is no need for me to learn how to use my new browser every couple of weeks.
If there's no way to stop the updates or keep my browser looking the same, I'll switch to Chrome. I thought I'd ask first though.
Chosen solution
There was a previous way by going through the Options menu but after disabling it through there, when you would go to Help > About Firefox, it would update regardless of that setting.
You can set these prefs in about:config
to disable automatic updating:
app.update.auto - false
app.update.enabled - false
app.update.silent - false

Awesome, thanks. I normally rock with Debian and Ice Weasel, so I'll pop on there and see if that's all new and scary too. Cheers for the answer though :)
