How to put the bottons on same line as the menu is like 28

more options

I have seen the concern of many users about wanting the old look back. I do also miss it. I think Others (Many) and I do like the old look and it is evidenced by the fact that we were not using Chrome. I agree that we can get used to the new look. As Developer mikedeboer indicated several time and several places.

Version 29 is missing the ability to fully customize the buttons. Almost all our staff except the ones that have Apple at home (we are Windows Shop), had setup the buttons to have only 2 rows on top. That means having everything that is on Navigation Bar Placed on Menu Bar and UN-checking the Navegation Bar in "View" . Getting Rid of 1 Full line on top.

Even the Developer: mikedeboer can not deny that by doing this you get a compact look while you are getting the largest view without using full-Screen.

It was there, it worked, it looked good and for many including us (126). WE WANT IT. the feature was preventing us from using Chrome! We put up with occasional Add-on's, Plug-In issues and stuck with Firefox. The developers may have ask opinions of many, but if they would be aware of the customization of buttons, or have waited and asked after those that new had tested this issue, the chances would be that the majority would say they wanted it back. (The reason that We know many did not knew of the ability to customize is that we had asked many.).

In Addition: now the Navigation Box (Address/URL Box) along with Reload, and Navigation Arrows (Back/Forward) are place in a dotted box in customization and it will not move anywhere, it may be possible to put it back in depository (I call it that), but I did not try it.

Well We are Saying we do not like it, and Asking WHY, and WANTING IT BACK. The rest of it we will get used to and in time forget the old look.

Will someone Fix this please.

Maybe an option to put your comment also here: https://input.mozilla.org/feedback since that is the official feedback channel for Mozilla?
I think (and I hope) it can have more impact there then to mention it here in the forum alone.

"Will someone Fix this please."

With all due respect, the Mozilla developers aren't going to "fix" something that they spent almost 4 years creating. Users who prefer the former look of Firefox are going to "fix" it themselves. Here are three articles that provide information to users about how to do that, as best is possible.

Adapt or perish - but in computerese, adapt by using add-ons or code to change what you don't like, as best you can

Note - the Menu Bar isn't needed, if you hit Alt or F10 the Menu Bar appears temporarily for use - hide that and it's one less "bar" to worry about looking at

I'm in the same position, but from Firefox 0.8 (yes, before 1.0) up until the last year or so I was running one toolbar when I had one "tab" open. I didn't go with a "hide single tab" add-on when Firefox started showing a single tab because I always had 2 tabs open anyways so it wasn't a big deal for me.

It may take me a few months, but I am trying to configure Firefox 29+ to my tastes without using an add-ons solely with css code / User Styles.

You write: "Note - the Menu Bar isn't needed, if you hit Alt or F10 the Menu Bar appears temporarily for use - hide that and it's one less "bar" to worry about looking at."
Maybe in your view it is something less to worry about looking. But for me and many others it's the only way to look at it. The menu bar for me is essential in its use, it offers a direct and easy way to use and navigate.
Like for example the Bookmarks: just one click and the list of bookmarks appear. The same goes for History.
It's a bit like Microsoft who removed the Start button in Windows 8 while that Start button in itself is such an intuitive and great part of Windows. Luckily Microsoft acknowledged that and the Start button is coming back for a big part.

Not necessary after you learn keyboard commands for your programs and use them for as much as you can, then you "need" the mouse for a lot fewer actions. Tends to avoid repetitive strain injuries by having your "mouse hand" into using muscles differently.

As far as examples:
{Ctrl + B} to open the Bookmarks Sidebar and {Ctrl + H} to open History
Also saves time vs. moving one hand away from the keyboard to the mouse.

I know what you mean. But many people do not use keyboard shortcuts and do not want to use them. Multiple reasons for that. My colleague at work does everything with keyboard shortcuts, for him it's way easier. For me the menubar and right clicks are way easier.
Plus there are enough reasons why people can not use keyboard shortcuts.
One of them (in my case) is the use of many years on how to work on computers. Call me old fashion or whatever but I do not need the keyboard shortcuts, I can work perfectly with the menu bar. I refuse to be forced to the shortcuts only because the lay out of something has changed. Plus somehow it is not easy at all for me to change my working habits: others can adapt easily to a new lay-out or situations, I really can't.
And sure, in Windows Explorer the Menu bar is also not visible by default. But at least there is an easy option to let it always show.

I like to thank everyone for the support shown here.

I was so concern about the Customization of buttons, that I forgot to Mention the Rounded, Border-less Tabs. Now it is so much harder to see and Visually Separate the Tabs .

I know someone is going to Say: Go There, Click Here, Add This, Plug-In That ! to fix it,but MY ANSWER IS: Why Should I have to do anything to change the Developer's Vision.

I bet that they (Developers) share the thoughts of the same designers who decided the car Stereo's should No Longer have Nice Clearly Positioned, Nicely labeled, etc. Buttons, AND Had to Have ICONS with symbols straight out of a video game, and a single knob to do it all. I remember when I had to give away (Should have just tossed it) my Pioneer car radio, just for the same reason.

The developers are one of those that loved it, but could not buy one. They had to just look at the pictures in the magazines, and that complex has been hunting them all this time.

I like my nice visible and definable Tabs back. I am not asking to bring it back, I am saying fix it.

I agree. The Menu bar is a must, but Meeji mine is there (Visible) all the time.

the-edmeister Point is not related to the issue. The menu bar has nothing to do with it. Although I thank you for taking you time and effort, and appropriate your responce, none of the solutions is a fix. If you look at the code you see that with the code compatibility concerns, someone has decided not to finish that section. It looks like they had setup some Vars to use and it didn't. It just need to be Fixed or finished.

The evidence that you easily can see is that every thing else is movable except the Nav bar, Reload and Back/Forward Arrows. Also you can see that they even kind of marked it for later to remember by putting a doted box around them. I do guess that you had not customized that area before. If you had you would be in full agreement with me.
