YAHOO MAIL SHOWS TEMPORARY ERROR 14 IN FIREFOX?
Been receiving "Temporary Error 14" for days now??? I followed the "Workaround" by Signing out of Yahoo Mail, clearing cache and cookie, restarting my web browser and signing back into my Yahoo Mail several times with no success??? Other Family Members are able to log into their Yahoo Mail using the same computer with no problem??? I'm using Firefox 28.0! I'm able to sign-in on a friends computer with chrome???

Do a malware check with several malware scanning programs on the Windows computer.
Please scan with all programs because each program detects different malware.
All these programs have free versions.
Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of their databases before doing a scan.

Hello,
I am able to access my Yahoo Mail account just fine. Have you tried safe mode?
Try Firefox Safe Mode to see if the problem goes away. Firefox Safe Mode is a troubleshooting mode that turns off some settings and disables most add-ons (extensions and themes).
(If you're using an added theme, switch to the Default theme.)
If Firefox is open, you can restart in Firefox Safe Mode from the Help menu by clicking on the Restart with Add-ons Disabled... menu item:
If Firefox is not running, you can start Firefox in Safe Mode as follows:
- On Windows: Hold the Shift key when you open the Firefox desktop or Start menu shortcut.
- On Mac: Hold the option key while starting Firefox.
- On Linux: Quit Firefox, go to your Terminal and run firefox -safe-mode
(you may need to specify the Firefox installation path e.g. /usr/lib/firefox)
Once you get the pop-up, just select "'Start in Safe Mode"
If the issue is not present in Firefox Safe Mode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to figure out which one. Please follow the Troubleshoot extensions, themes and hardware acceleration issues to solve common Firefox problems article to find the cause.
To exit Firefox Safe Mode, just close Firefox and wait a few seconds before opening Firefox for normal use again.
When you figure out what's causing your issues, please let us know. It might help others with the same problem.
Thank you.
As I mentioned, other Family Members are able to log into their Yahoo Mail using the same computer with with Firefox in regular mode with no problem, it is only happening with my Yahoo Mail log-in??? Therefore, it can't be caused by an extension and/or plugin!
I tried Firefox's "Safe Mode" just for the heck of it since I tried everything else and that didn't solve my problem as I still receive the same "Temporary Error 14" message???
Since this seems to be an issue with your account only. I would suggest contacting Yahoo.

How does one contact Yahoo Mail because all I receive is a canned reply that tells me to do the steps I have already done???
TLBRO:
You can try calling Yahoo about this issue. From their website:
Call 1-800-318-0612 for Login Help
Does is has effect if you access that website in a Private Browsing mode window?
You can remove all data stored in Firefox from a specific domain via "Forget About This Site" in the right-click context menu of an history entry ("History > Show All History" or "View > Sidebar > History") or via the about:permissions page.
Using "Forget About This Site" will remove all data stored in Firefox from that domain like bookmarks, cookies, passwords, cache, history, and exceptions, so be cautious and if you have a password or other data from that domain that you do not want to lose then make sure to backup this data or make a note.
You can't recover from this 'forget' unless you have a backup of the involved files.
It doesn't have any lasting effect, so if you revisit such a 'forgotten' website then data from that website will be saved once again.
I NOW tried Firefox's "Safe Mode" & "Firefox's Private Browsing Mode" just for the heck of it since I tried everything else and that didn't solve my problem as I still receive the same "Temporary Error 14" message???
Like I mentioned, I followed the "Workaround" by Signing out of Yahoo Mail, clearing cache and cookie, restarting my web browser and signing back into my Yahoo Mail several times with no success??? Other Family Members are able to log into their Yahoo Mail using the same computer with no problem??? I'm using Firefox 28.0! I'm able to sign-in on a friends computer with Chrome, but for some reason I am unable to sign-out when using Chrome??? This is very frustrating and puzzling! I wish Mozilla and/or Yahoo would help with my problem!!!
Since this is an isolated case, we at Mozilla have no control of your account. Nor can we fix your account. You can try updating to version 29 to see if it helps.
I keep telling everyone: "Other Family Members are able to log into their Yahoo Mail using the same computer with no problem!!!"
How would updating to version 29 help???
I definitely understand that other members are able to log in to their account with no problems. That is why this is an isolated case and could be an issue with just your account if other accounts are not affected.
In each version of Firefox, bugs are fix and changes are implemented, there is a slim that updating would work but it's always good to give things a try.
I don't want to uninstall and re-install Firefox because I know that I will lose a lot of my settings and cookies for other websites and will have to start all over re-setting my preferences. The last time I uninstalled and re-installed Firefox it took me months to get all my settings back to where they should be!!!
There is no need to uninstall then re-install. You can just download and install Firefox. However, it is important to know that Firefox 29 is a different update than regular updates that a released every 6 weeks.
Firefox 29 is a beta version and I don't want to have anymore problems than I already have! Firefox 28 is still working fine, it is with only one Yahoo Mail account that was working fine up until a week ago, so it is either something in Firefox or Yahoo Mail that is giving me the "Temporary Error 14" message???
I tried Firefox's "Safe Mode" & "Firefox's Private Browsing Mode" and that didn't solve my problem as I still receive the same "Temporary Error 14" message, so I don't think a new version of Firefox will help me???

I did do several malware checks but found nothing!
NOW two other Family Members are receiving Yahoo Mail's "Temporary Error 14" message when trying to log into their Yahoo Mail??? I checked online and it seems like some others are having a problem logging into their Yahoo Mail as well???
Since I was able to log onto Yahoo Mail with Chrome on a friends computer, I have downloaded Chrome and am able to log into Yahoo Mail even-though it is very slow!
I don't know if Yahoo Mail doesn't like the Firefox browser or Firefox doesn't like Yahoo Mail, but the problem seems to be between Firefox and Yahoo Mail and not other browsers or or online Mail???
I don't know what the problem was, but I 'RESET' Firefox per the instructions in the below link and now I don't receive Yahoo Mail's "Temporary Error 14" message any longer???

Mozilla Support should keep this info in-case others have this problem!!!
