Using XP Pro Firefox hangs every time I press a Browse button. I have to force close with Task Manager. I've tried removing the registry MRU keys as suggested in a previous closed question, but that hasn't helped.

Try to delete the mimeTypes.rdf file in the Firefox Profile Folder to reset all file actions.


Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.

If the new profile works then you can transfer some files from the old profile to that new profile, but be careful not to copy corrupted files.

You can also try to reset Firefox:

Does that happen in Firefox safe mode? It could be an extension interfering. See these pages:
