Certain elements of websites don't appear on Firefox but they are visible on other browsers.
Certain elements of websites don't show up. A slide show on one website might be invisible, and a button on another might not appear. Some popups from websites like openbadges.org (when adding a badge) keep loading forever. Google Chrome does not have these issues. I made sure my plugins are updated (including java and flash) and I had my add-ons disabled, but the problem still persists. It's not just the appearance, I can't even interact with the objects.

So, images that do not appear on the web page do appear in Tools > Page Info > Media ?
Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
- Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.
See "Basic Troubleshooting: Make a new profile":
There may be extensions and plugins installed by default in a new profile, so check that in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions & Plugins" in case there are still problems.
If that new profile works then you can transfer some files from the old profile to that new profile, but be careful not to copy corrupted files.

No problems here on Linux with seeing the green Go button.
Can you attach a screenshot?
Use a compressed image type like PNG or JPG to save the screenshot and make sure that you do not exceed the maximum file size (1 MB).

Here's a link with three screenies: http://www.flickr.com/photos/75787107@N08/ I'm sorry I didn't upload these earlier
You can't attach images to the first post (you can to subsequent posts), so that is why you didn't see it when you created this thread.
Sounds that you are hiding images on that web page.
You can use these steps to check if images are blocked:
- Open the web page that has the images missing in a browser tab.
- Click the website favicon (How do I tell if my connection to a website is secure?) on the left end of the location bar.
- Click the "More Information" button to open the "Page Info" window with the Security tab selected (also accessible via "Tools > Page Info").
- Go to the Media tab of the "Tools > Page Info" window.
- Select the first image link and scroll down through the list with the Down arrow key.
- If an image in the list is grayed and there is a check-mark in the box "Block Images from..." then remove that mark to unblock the images from that domain.

I'm sorry this turned out to be quite an issue and thank you for your help but the images are visible in the Media tab of the Page Info window, however they are not blocked. Actually, there are no images blocked at all.
