problem: instead of "new tab: tab I get "untitled" tab. see below under details

OK. You're dealing with a not sophisticated computer person.

Usually, when I open a link it shows in a bar as a tab. Usually until recently, if i clicked on the "open a new tab" tab (on the far right) I usually get a window which displays the following: nine "thumbnails" (images) of recently opened windows; to the right, a list of recent bookmarks and a list of "recently closed tabs"; at the bottom the square of thumbnails, a link to "edit thumbnails", "show full history" and "settings".

this is a fabulous feature but... suddenly all I am getting on some mozilla/firefox screens is a blank window and a tab that says that just says "untitled" How do I get back to "new tab" window with all the features that I'm used to ????

h steck [email protected] & thanks v/m.

(Untitled) is the default when you open a new tab. That "fabulous feature" isn't a standard part of Firefox, it was added by the Google Toolbar extension.

Open the Google Toolbar options, and look at the Search tab. Under Web-browsing tools, make sure that Enable the Google new tab page is check-marked.
