If you clear the recent history manually then there is not problem with App Tabs and Tab Groups getting lost and you can remove any data that you want.. There is only a problem when you do that automatically each time you close Firefox. Your first screenshot shows that you only clear the cache on exit, so that should be OK.

Hi cor-el

I've just had a seizure. I registered with Royal Mail in UK just a few hours ago. I clicked on the link in their e-mail and because Firefox was NOT open it opened Firefox in a new window (no tab groups) so because I use Show My Tabs and Windows From Last Time the Royal Mail page became the last page when I closed Firefox. So I've rebuilt my tab groups AGAIN. I'm getting quite good at it now ha-ha.

I'll try a Clear History When Firefox Closes with an extra tick added in the settings each time and see which ones work I think.

Thank You pingu70

hi cor-el I disabled Clear History on exit and my tab groups saved as Show my windows and tabs from last time and they opened the next time i opened Firefox

Can I leave the case Unsolved temporarily while I experiment with different ticks.I can re-build my tab groups pretty quickly now if I get in a mess.

Thanks pingu70

Initially I had a group of 4 tabs and another group of 2 plus an App Tab. At some point they all just went away (Win 7 64). I have the top 4 "Tabs" Options checked & FireFox Will Remember History selected. I recreated them. Then I closed FF and reopened - two of the 4 were gone from 1 group and the 2 in the other group were there. I don't get it.

Also, I did a search of my HDD and there is no sessionstore.* present; only sessionStoreManager.js

What up?

The profile folder is in a hidden location

The "Application Data" folder in XP/Win2K and the "AppData" folder in Vista/Windows 7 are hidden folders.

@philwells @cor-el This is my post and I had 5 groups of 8 tabs and they still disappeared. I had to "close and remember my tabs and windows at last session" to keep them but they still disappeared so I gave up and have them saved as bookmarks and ALWAYS open another one "IN A NEW TAB". I had to untick "warn me if I close multiple tabs" or they would be gone next session. @cor-el gave me a few tips. Another thing having 40 tabs open (5x8) only one group at a time of course (the others open in the background) didn't do my memory any good.

I had my tabs pinned and followed directions to have them open each time I started Firefox. The site crashed and when I reopened Firefox they were all gone. It's not easy going back thru all the history especially if you have some you did not use today or yesterday.

Problem solved over here: Changed the settings on: Options/Privacy/History Firefox will: (Here there is an option named “Remember history” which is misleading on this tab issue. Changed the settings here to: “Use custom settings for History

(leave checked the first item) Remember my browsing history

It worked over here. Hope this helps any. Good luck.
