I don't know how to change the color of the hovering text because it is way to hard to read with light grey text on a white background - https://i.gyazo.com/4b8a350e99e99ce7bf16cf6bf8231354.gif for an example, it is same colors on any page for any text hover bubble popup. i tried doing a manual override color with firefox color options and doesn't change it.

Site design. As is in here there are lings that are just words and are greyed out.

There are a few here to check out, just type link Link Alert is one :

Please let us know if this solved your issue or if need further assistance.

it's not a link though, the hovering text to show full text or descriptions of stuff on pages, the one in the gif is from youtube to hover to show full title when its to long, the extension you linked also doesn't help with the color scheme. also normal link text is properly colored with a dark purple/blue (not sure which color) while hover text is super light grey text instead.

It is not being allowed to over ride that. It is set by the site's CSS file. Find another Extension that works for you. That was a example of what could found as stated, "There are a few here" Just type Link into the search bar.

Firefox might be using the OS settings as defined on Windows to display this information, so maybe look there to see if you can change the background color to be darker.

You can also try a different builtin theme. "3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Appearance

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions ("3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.

  • switch to the DEFAULT theme: "3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Appearance
  • do NOT click the "Refresh Firefox" button on the Safe Mode start window

i tired putting firefox in safe mode + default skin/theme and it doesn't help, i don't think it is a windows issue because i tried with chrome, and IE, and window's explorer itself and it looks different and easy to see still with the text being much darker instead of the bright light grey that firefox is giving. this only really started to happen after i updated to firefox quantum (57) as well.

here is what i see for IE: https://i.gyazo.com/9773e5a473ac480df3be0f8bd9b1e33c.gif ;

chrome: https://i.gyazo.com/4e3451e1d589425e70ea526aff4f8465.gif ; and windows explorer: https://i.gyazo.com/e63a50b2af1c39b2857594671949a656.gif

so i don't really understand why it's doing this specially even after a safemode. i tried some skins as well but it doesn't change the hover text color or it's background color for the hover bubble. Thank you for the replies as well.
