I'm a huge fan of Firefox. Been using it ever since Windows XP. Even now when people praises Google Chrome, I always stick with my Firefox.

My situation: Whenever I open a new tab in Firefox, I love that page that shows thumbnails of websites I visited. I can easily remove thoose I don't want and keep thoose I frequently use, such as FB, news websites, netflix etc.

Whenever I search for something in Firefox, I never go into google website. I take advantage of the very nice feature, where i just type in whatever name or word Im looking for in the URL field, Firefox automaticly opens and searches for it in Google. I really love this.

Now!! Recently (after I formated my computer) whenever I get "google.com" as thumbnail , I press X, because its not something i want to see there. But it KEEPS coming back up whenever I search for something in the URL field. Firefox did NOT used to behave like this. It was enough that I pressed X on google.com and no matter what I searched for, it would not return in form of thumbnail.

My question now is: How can I make sure that google.com doesnt keep showing up on thumbnails all the time? That when I press X on it, it stays off my thumbnail new tab page?

Hi Zyloph  !

For now it's kind of a 'all or nothing' kind of thing, I'm afraid ......

See : https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/hide-or-display-sites-new-tab-page

But in only a few weeks time, with Firefox 57, a lot of things will change, including the New Tab Page.

Since just formatted am wondering why your showing as using version 56 when current version is 56.0.2

Suggest uninstall and reinstall with the Full Version 56.0.2 Installer https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all/

See if this turns up anything : https://www.malwarebytes.com/adwcleaner/ https://forums.malwarebytes.com/topic/9573-im-infected-what-do-i-do-now/ Does not matter if just formatted as could of loaded a bad file or used a usb or, or, or

If still have issues it could be something in your profile (but not sure) but can look into that if return.

Please let us know if this solved your issue or if need further assistance.
