Can anyone explain why TB duplicates the choices for Tools > Account Settings > Junk Settings > Global Junk Preferences with those of Tools > Options? I these entries conflict which take precedence? I would think entering the choices once would suffice.

Global settings and per account settings. They amount to the same thing when you have a single mails account. But I have many. So the global setting apply to new accounts, but if I want to over ride the settings on a per account basis I can.

The global button in account settings is simply provided as a shortcut to the global setting so you do not have to trawl through a long list of menus to get there via options. That is why both open an identical dialog

The same as account settings can be accessed about four different ways.

  • Right click in the folder pane
  • Tools > account settings
  • > Options > account settings
  • The account central mage that is displayed when you click the account in the folder pane.

So to other options have multiple way of getting to them
