I have a new PC (5days) Mozilla Firefox has been working well since I downloaded it on the first day. This morning I clicked on the screen icon and instead of booting into my home screen it just went straight down into the task bar as an icon and I cannot maximise this icon into the full screen.

I tried a full system restore twice (to points where I know it was working) to no get the same result. I have also tried a full delete and re-downloaded and received the same result.

Any suggestions? I do not want to use the Microsoft product.

Can you open the System menu via Alt+Space in case the Firefox window is off screen?

Try to start Firefox in Safe Mode to see if that works.

  • Windows: hold down the Shift key while starting Firefox
  • Mac: hold down the Options key while starting Firefox

Boot the computer in Windows Safe mode with network support to see if that has effect in case security software is causing problems.
