When Im including a html signature I get two dashes -- at the beggining in the top before the signature is this a bug ?

See screen capture atached, they are marked in a red circle.

The code don't have those dashes.

The dashes are automatically added so that when the recipient replies to your message, your signature is (usually) omitted, since it's unnecessary.

Ok I did this

If you don't want a "-- " signature separator (the divider between the message body and the signature) use the config editor to change mail.identity.default.suppress_signature_separator from false to true.

This requires Thunderbird 5.0 or later. If you are using Windows go to Tools → Options → Advanced → General and press the Config Editor button. Enter suppress_signature_separator in the Filter: field and press return. Find mail.identity.default.suppress_signature_separator in the results and double click on false in its Value column to toggle it to true, then close the config editor and press the OK button. [1]

Most instructions take you through the standard menu which is now disabled by default. You can either fumble about in the replacement Application Menu (look for the button with three bars) or right-click on the titlebar and enable the old menu.

On a Windows pc, F10 or the alt button should also make the menu appear temporarily.
