last FireFox updat removed FireTube from my tool bar
With latest FireFox update the icons for the FireTube Music Player add on disappeared from the tool bar. It still shows up in extensions but there is no access. I have reloaded, checked the customization menu, looked at all the settings I am skilled enough to check (not very) and I can find nothing. I really want that add on back and if it can't be done in the latest FireFox I would like to know how to roll back to the last version.
Thank you in advance.

Hi Switcher, it looks like FireTube was unfortunately not updated to work with Firefox 40. The extension uses the old "widget" module to add its button to the tool bar and that module no longer exists in Firefox 40.
Do you want to contact the developer at support@palmerintech.com and alert them to the issue?
If your life is not complete without FireTube, you probably need to do one of the following for the time being:
(1) Switch from using regular Firefox to using the Extended Support Release version of Firefox 38, which is designed for corporations but is available to anyone who wants to maintain backwards compatibility (about ESR: http://www.mozilla.org/firefox/organizations/);
(2) Find an updated extension with the functions you need; or
(3) Downgrade to Firefox 39.0.3, bearing in mind the security issues (Install an older version of Firefox).
If you decide to try the Extended Support Release (ESR) version of Firefox, here is how I suggest installing it:
Clean Reinstall
We use this name, but it's not about removing your settings, it's about making sure the program files are clean (no inconsistent, corrupted, or alien code files). As described below, this process does not disturb your existing settings. Do NOT uninstall Firefox, that's not needed.
(A) Download a fresh installer for Firefox 38.2.0esr from https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/organizations/all/ to a convenient location. (Scroll down to your preferred language.)
(B) Exit out of Firefox (if applicable).
(C) Rename the program folder, either:
(64-bit Windows folder names)
C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox
to
C:\Program Files (x86)\Fx40
(32-bit Windows folder names)
C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox
to
C:\Program Files\Fx40
(D) Run the installer you downloaded in (A). It should automatically connect to your existing settings.
Note: Some plugins may exist only in that old folder. If something essential is missing, look in these folders:
- \Fx40\Plugins
- \Fx40\browser\plugins
