Why isn't the keyword "google" accepted?

I use keywords in bookmarks to search from the url bar. Now suddenly the keyword "google" for my google search disappeared and if I reenter it, it isn't stored with the bookmark. Different bookmarks are accepted, just not "google". What can I do (except use a different keyword)?

Well, somehow, the problem just disappeared after some time. The keyword "google" works perfectly well again.

The places database in the profile folder stores the keywords for search. Please make sure that this does not happen in a new profile first:

Did you set this keyword via "Options/Preferences > Search"

Such a keyword is not stored in places.sqlite, but in search-metadata.json.

Try to delete the search.json file and possible search-metadata.json and search.sqlite files in the Firefox profile folder to reset the search engines to the default.

You can use this button to go to the current Firefox profile folder:

Firefox will rebuild the search.json file from the default search engines in the "browser\searchplugins" folder in the Firefox program folder and the searchplugins folder in the Firefox profile folder.

You will have to set all keywords added to search engines once again.
