Lost my sync password

I'm using Firefox for android and every now and then I have to clear the Firefox app data completely because it starts getting slow for some reason (even without addons). I just did this again an hour or two ago after a few months of no problems. Since it's been a while, the password I thought I used for sync wasn't working, and that's the case with the email provider I use, hence why I can't recover my password from there. I've contacted them to see if I can recover my password, but incase that doesn't work, I'm asking here. I have a vague idea of what the password should be, if that helps. The account associated with the sync is [email protected]. Thanks.

hello, the encryption key derived from your password is the only way to access and decrypt your sync data (there is no other way, even for mozilla). if you have lost your password it won't be possible to retrieve that data, the same applies on a password reset (which will wipe existing data on the sync servers).

Hi, thank you for the response. I'll have to try to fix the email end of the problem. Unfortunately, I've been told that my email has been accessed recently even though I haven't used it in months. I'm hoping they were referring to my newer email because the address is quite similar.
