Only 1 site not connecting - it has been pinned and worked ok, but now gives Connection Reset error. Why?
I use the http://192.168.0.1/modemstatus_home.html: for my modem status and have had it pinned in Firefox for months with no problems. Now suddenly I get a Connection was reset error. This is the only site I have a problem with. The site loads fine in IE and Opera, and loads in my Wireless connection with my other computer running Firefox (running XP Pro SP3). The system that can't connect is running Win 7 Ultimate. I have not updated any windows files. I have Avast IS installed and scanned my system for a virus, but I'm clean. I also ran an Avira rescue CD and checked my system, it also reported clean. It is only a problem in Firefox (10.0.2).

Make sure that your security software (firewall) isn't blocking that connection of Firefox.
Thanks for the quick reply, but as I said: Both IE and Opera can load the site with no problem.
Well whatever the problem is in Firefox it's getting worse, I can't even do a search with google without getting: The connection was reset
The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading.
I had to use Opera just to get back to this page. I have loaded all my favorite sites into Opera and not one has failed!! There is definitely a problem with Firefox, and until it's fixed I'm gonna have to use Opera.
Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
- Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

Well I fixed it! After doing everything I could think of and suggestions here, I ended up in About:Config :O). In it; and also in the Advanced tab I later learned, a proxy had been set up for http and ftp! I have no idea how they got set; I have never used a proxy. Once I changed those settings everything worked! Thanks for all the help, and suggestions. And yes, I did run Firefox in Safe mode a couple of times, but still had the same problems since it wasn't any add ons or extensions. Hope this helps someone with similar problems!
