When I click on a link on an email received instead of opening the page this notice pops up. "Firefox prevented this page from automatically redirecting to another page" Allow This notice is nothing new with firefox , I just clicked "Allow" and carry on, But since upgrading Firefox 8 to Firefox 9 this started to happen. This happen only when I Click on a link to move to another web page. If I copy and page the link directly into my browser all is fine, but this is a nuisance.

WHAT IS THE DEAL!!!!!! For weeks, I've been getting error messages from FIrefox when I try to go to Yahoo!!!!!! I use the same, exact address I use with Safari (www.yahoo.com) but get the message, "Sorry, the page you requested was not found." and "Please check the URL for proper spelling, etc." The message also tells me to visit the Yahoo! home page and includes an apparent link but even THAT doesn't work!!!! WHAT IN THE WORLD is wrong with stupid Firefox!?!?!?! I've gone through preferences, done a search on Yahoo help, Firefox help and can't get it to work. Does anyone have a clue?!

(Sorry about the CAPS and !!! but I'm hugely frustrated by this as a couple of sites I use regularly will only work on Firefox so I have no choice but to use it.)

You can turn off the redirect/reload page warning:

  • Firefox button > Options > Options (OR Tools > Options) > Advanced > General > un-check "Warn me when websites try to redirect or reload the page"

I have not seen this reported as affecting the warning line at the top of the window, but you might want to try it if you would rather leave the above option checked....

Recently, the Yahoo Toolbar and the Babylon extension have been reported to cause that problem. They seem to overlap invisibly over the top of the web page display. If you have either or both, uninstall or disable them/it, or see if an update is available that solves the problem.

If that does not solve the problem:

I went on the "tools" tab, clicked "options", and in the "content" tab, under "block pop up window" I clicked the "exceptions" button and copied and pasted the page I wanted in there. It worked. Hope I won't have to do it for each link on the site I'm using.
