I was trying to open a website as a link from another website and I get a new tab that says

awclick.php(GIF Image 1x1 pixels)

I can open the website without clicking on a link to it by just typing in the address but as this is a cash back site I am linking from it doesn't help!

Hiya,

I am not getting a gif image as Bodspice mentioned above but I end up with a blank page that has the following URL:

http://www.awin1.com/awclick.php?mid=2481&id=47868&clickref=319541108&p=http://www.blinkbox.com/Movies/Catalogue/Free

I don't use Windows XP's own firewall and Avast as an anti-virus.

I tested it on Chrome, it took me to the page straightaway without any problems.

Any idea why and how to get rid of this problem? I am not keen on using Chrome and prefer Firefox.

Thanks in advance.

Some firewalls like Kaspersky can block content and send a 1x1 GIF image instead.
Kaspersky: Protection > Firewall > Filtration system: disable the "Banner Ad Blocker"

Thank you very much - perfect now! Can't believe it was that simple - I have tried everything.
