Can't verify my e-mail address.

I asked a question and was told I would need to verify my e-mail address by clicking on a link in an e-mail I would receive. I received the e-mail, and then clicked on the link. All seemed OK, until later when I went back to the site to see if my question was answered, there was a message that my e-mail could not be verified. There was no help given as to what to do about that or what to do next. I am at a loss.....and expect I will not be able to get this message thru either.
