When I try to access the interactive sites on Princeton Review I politely receive this message:

Your browser: Firefox 4.0 WinNT | JavaScript supported: Yes | screen size: 1366 X 768 | Flash Version Installed: 10.0 r42 | Supports AJAX:Yes | Click here to test connection speed Attention:

   This browser is not supported. Links to Start, Resume or Start Over any exams in iTest are disabled for this browser.

We encourage you to use Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0 or higher or Mozilla Firefox 1.5 or 2.

Use of your Online Student Center in Firefox 3.0 is not yet supported.

You can install them both but there are a few steps to take.

When you install the 2nd version of Firefox use the custom installation option and choose a different location to install Firefox.

In order to use both versions, you need to create a new profile for the 2nd version of Firefox (Firefox stores user data in the profile). Using the same profile with different versions can cause problems. Finally, you will need to set up shortcuts to launch the correct profile for each version.

The following links show how to do this:

If you want to copy the bookmarks to Firefox 2, first export them from Firefox 4 into an HTML file as shown here - https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Exporting+bookmarks+to+an+HTML+file

To import that file into Firefox 2;

  1. In the Bookmarks menu select "Organize Bookmarks" to open the bookmark manager
  2. In the bookmarks manager, in the File menu select Import, choose the "From File" and select the HTML file that you exported above

IMO, you are better off installing - Firefox Portable 2.0.0.20 - to your hard drive for the few web sites that are so out of date that they don't support newer versions of Firefox. That way you don't need to fool around with a separate Profile for 2.0.0.20, and there is less chance of a another version / Profile of Firefox getting "contaminated" by that old version or you losing private data if your get the Profiles switched.
