Every time I try to watch a video, whether it's at a news site, in an email, on YouTube or Facebook, anywhere at all, I get a screen telling me I need to download the new version of Adobe Flash Player. Yet each time it appears to download, I retry the video and get the same screen again. This is NOT an issue with Hewlett-Packard or Windows 7 because I just spent nearly FOUR HOURS with tech support and they have indicated that this problem is with Mozilla Firefox. They helped me uninstall and reinstall, and I still can't watch any videos.

1.Download the Flash setup file from here:
Adobe Flash - Plugin version.
Save it to your Desktop.

2. Close Firefox using File > Exit
then check the Task Manager > Processes tab to make sure firefox.exe is closed,
{XP: Ctrl+Alt+Del, Vista: Shift+Ctrl+ESC = Processes tab}

3. Then run the Flash setup file from your Desktop.

  • On Vista and Windows 7 you may need to run the plugin installer as Administrator by starting the installer via the right-click context menu if you do not get an UAC prompt to ask for permission to continue (i.e nothing seems to happen).

See this:

IE uses an ActiveX control to handle Flash objects. Firefox uses a different NPAPI plugin.

Your above posted list of installed plugins doesn't show the Flash plugin for Firefox. See Flash Plugin - Keep it up to date and troubleshoot problems and Install the Flash plugin to view videos, animations and games
