Filters don't work on gmail accounts

I have accounts with a variety of carriers (Outlook, Gmail, Smartmail, GMX, etc.) All of my filters seem to work great EXCEPT those on Gmail where there is an All Mail box. On these accounts, Thunderbird transfers incoming mail directly to the All Mail box- but not ALL of the mail. Some of the messages manage to get grabbed by the filters and manipulated correctly. THIS ONLY HAPPENS WITH GMAIL ACCOUNTS

As best as I can tell, I cannot set up filters to affect the All Mail box - only the main Inbox.

All Mail is really a furphy as far as being an imap folder. It is literally what it says on the label "all your mail in that account" The best advice I can give you for it is to unsubscribe from it. Right click the folder and unsubscribe you will not longer see it so not be bothered by the fact you can't move around mail from the folder that must contain everything.
