This is the Bookmarks Toolbar where you can place bookmarks for easy access.

You can choose whether to display this toolbar by right-clicking empty space on the Navigation Toolbar or Menu bar or use the "View -> Toolbars" sub menu.

There are more options for showing the Bookmarks Toolbar in Firefox 85+ and the checkbox for showing the Bookmarks Toolbar has become a sub menu with three choices:

  • "Always Show", "Only Show on New Tab", "Never Show"

"Only Show on New Tab" only applies to the "about:newtab" and "about:home" pages, so won't work when the new tab page is not set to the default Firefox Home screen.

I dont know what I am seeing with your pic.

but that section of the browser can be customized.

if you right mouse click at the end of the address field, you should get some options.

if you right mouse click under the address field, you should again get some options.
