I need to run an older version (71.*) of Thunderbird on Mac in order to use the Send Later add-on.

Thunderbird asks me once every day or two to upgrade to version 82, and I don't want to. Annoying because the dock icon bounces, it interrupts my use of the app, etc. I'm sure there is a setting to turn this off, but I can't find it, and didn't see a relevant post.

The closest setting I found was in Preferences, but it doesn't allow me to turn off update notifications altogether. Screenshot attached.

Any ideas

Unfortunately, on version 71.0b4 on Mac, there is no "Advanced" menu in Thunderbird > Preferences. Maybe a setting inside Config Editor would work.

I tried increasing app.update.promptWaitTime and app.update.interval to 86400000 (in seconds, which is equal to 1000 days). I quit and re-started. But, I still got prompted again today, after being prompted yesterday. Is there a different config setting to edit?

what version of macintosh do you have? 10.15.6

do you have a mac book air? or pro or imac? the version please? MacBook Pro, Retina, 15-Inch, Mid-2015

And The version of Thunderbird? 71.0b4

Options = Preferences via Menu Bar: Thunderbird> Preferences> Advanced '> Update' tab. what do you get to after doing this? When I go into thunderbird > preferences, there is no "advanced" option. "Updates" is a section in "General" as shown in the attached screengrab.

Is there a setting in Config Editor I can use to turn these update alerts off?
