After updating to the latest Firefox version, Firefox messed up my older version and I couldn't recover my previous settings and quite a lot of passwords. It is very tedious to go through the whole rigmarole again. Will I recover my old settings and passwords if I reset to the previous running version? Thanks and cheers.

hello janlnet..

To restore this data:

On the desktop you should see a folder called 'Old Firefox Data' open it and copy all the data by highlighting and selecting everything in that folder, then right click and select copy. Now open FIrefox. Head on over to about:profiles by typing it in your URL bar. Click on the Open Folder button under the Local Directory, not root. Then right click when inside the new profile folder and select paste. Then restart Firefox. You should now have all your previous bookmarks, and data back.

If this solved your problem, mark as solution.

thank you!

Hi, Firefox may have created a new empty Profile during the update which you are now using. Please see the linked article for info on how to reselect your old Profile containing all your data: Recover user data missing after Firefox update.

HI Guys

Thanks for your support but, unfortunately, none work. Tried everything possible. Just too bad. Got to live with it now.
