Edge at every startup I tried gpedit.msc but it says it does not exist
Every bootup Microsoft Edge starts plus no matter also what I do I cannot make Firefox my default browser. I tried the recommended Run gpedit.msc only to get a message "Windoze cannot find gpedit.msc make sure you've typed the name correctly and try again"
This is driving me bats

Did you look at the file association setting to seeing to see if it sees firefox?
I happened to be in Curry's today and so I explained the problem to 3 members of their staff who were having a conversation. Their solution - uninstall edge browser completely. I had been under the impression that Edge was built into windoze and could not be uninstalled but not according to them.
Well I just attempted to uninstall edge and the option to do so is greyed out. So much for Currys PC world experts!

I have not heard of the gpedit.msc approach, but I can recomend having a read of this article:

Please be aware that if you computer is subject to an enterprise policy (such as for a school or company), they may be running other software to inhibit what is installed.
It seems I have firefox listed twice in my "choose an application"
Also I used advanced options to stop edge from doing anything but it still tries to begin every boot then vanishes.
