how to download a text document into the body of a e-mail--not make it an attachment.
Someone suggested using a "copy" function in Word, and a "paste" function of Mozilla but that doesn't work. I'm trying to e-mail a text document (first few pages of a story) to several literary agents, but they won't accept it as an attachment--only when included in the body of the e-mail.

What does not work....is nothing copied into the 'Write' window or is it copied but not as you expected it to look?
Word will have a load of hidden code which can cause all sorts of issues. MS Word is designed to be a 'Word Processing' tool and will have a load of formatting, fonts etc that may or may not be available in HTML or even on other receiving computers.
So make sure you are using a font that is readilly available on most computers.
In 'Word' document, Select the text and use 'Copy' option.
In Thunderbird In a 'Write' window Type initial part of email. Then use the 'Edit' > 'Paste without formatting' option to insert the copied text.
