I understood the Archive function allowed the "copying" of selected messages into a separate folder. However when I applied the A to my current AOL inbox on TB, while the messages do appear in their designated Archive folder, they have been REMOVED from the AOL inbox in TB as well as from my actual AOL inbox. I was not expecting that to happen.

Is there a way to get those archived messages back into my current AOL account in TB and on AOL? My TB AOL mail account is an imap type.

Here is the article describing the Archive function. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/archived-messages The first sentence states it moves messages, not copy them. When using IMAP and you move a message to a folder not on the IMAP server, they no longer show on the server. You can drag and drop the message back or select them and use the Move To menu. If you want them both archived and on the server for some unknown reason, holding the control key while doing a drag and drop will do a copy instead of a move. A + sign will appear beside what you are moving to indicate a copy. There is a Copy To command also
