Long list of very questionable sites in Registry; how do I remove?

more options

I just stumbled on a very long list of very questionable websites (see image - no I'm not a porn freak!). They're listed under Internet Settings, then ZoneMap. WTF are these, can I delete them, are they harmful to my laptop, and why are they even there in the first place? Or does this show me which sites have actually been BLOCKED? (which would be fine, but still)

thanks.

That is a list used by Internet Explorer and corresponds to the "zones" system, e.g., Trusted Sites, Restricted Sites, etc.

As an example, see the attached screenshot showing the correspondence between my Restricted Sites list in the Internet Options dialog and the ZoneMap\Domains section of the registry (4 = Restricted). You can't tell the zone without clicking each domain, so it's probably easier to use the Internet Options dialog. (That's available either in the Windows Control Panel or from inside IE.)

More info on the registry settings: Internet Explorer security zones registry entries for advanced users.

Assuming those are all restricted sites, how did they get there? Maybe some security software?? If they are trusted sites, that would be suspicious.
