Hi, I assume you have attempted to remove Yahoo from your search; [[Add or remove a search engine in Firefox]] Also look in Add-ons Manager (Ctrl+Shift+A) > Extensions. You can also check your Firefox Desktop shortcut for corruption: Right click on it > Properties, and in Target, make sure there is no sign of Yahoo. If there is, delete that part of it. Another thing you can do, is to search for Yahoo in your PC's search box, and remove anything suspect that you didn't install, or was installed when the issue first started. I had tried the items mentioned. Thank you! I then blanked out the values for all Yahoo in about:config and restarted Firefox. Still no good. I installed the addon searchreset and noted someone's comment to drag/drop your preferred search provider home page to the home page icon (the House icon) of Firefox. Well, that worked! Doing this did blow away McAfee site advisor...haven't worked on this yet. Hope this works under Ubuntu, too.
