HERE'S AN UPDATE. THE ADD ON CONSOLE DIDN'T WORK. BUT... MAKE SURE THAT THE ASK TOOLBAR IS ENABLED AND TO THE VERY RIGHT OF SAID TOOL BAR, IS A MENU OPTION TO UNINSTALL. WHEN YOU ACTIVATE IT, A WARNING COMES UP TO TELL YOU TO CLOSE ALL BROWSER WINDOWS TO COMPLETE THE UNINSTALL. YOU DO THIS AND HIT OK JUST TO GET THE WARNING REPEATED AND THE UNINSTALL STILL LOCKED INTO THE SAME LOOP. GET FRUSTRATED AND VERY ANGRY, THEN HIT CANCEL WHILE CURSING YOUR FAVORITE SMALL GOD. RESTART FIREFOX AND THE ASK.COM TOOLBAR IS GONE ALONG WITH....wait for it YOUR TAB PROBLEM. I HOPE THIS HELPS YOU. IF YOU DIDN'T HAVE ASK.COM, MAYBE ED CAN FIND SOMETHING ELSE TO HELP. does Yahoo think everyone is a little ..... kitty?

Try disabling the Ask Toolbar extension that you have installed.

I have this problem as well. I could not see the ask toolbar in firefox, yet in the add or remove programs it was installed. As soon as I uninstalled it, I could open tabs again!

Thanks guys!
