Machine is a fedora powered HP laptop. System was configured to operate for a work location with a proxy server. When I take the system home, configure it for "no proxy" and attempt to connect through the WiFi connection, it does not connect. The connection is configured via dhcp at both locations. At home, the websites are "pingable" from the terminal. However, Firefox produces a "Server not found" error. If I plug the IP address into the address window, I usually get som "flavor" of the desired website, but another "server not found" when I navigate away from the window. Again, Firefox operates normally at work through the proxy server.

Does it work with the default connection settings?

Tools > Options > Advanced : Network : Connection : Use the system proxy settings
