Firefox Password Transfer

more options

I wanted to transfer my logins and password from one Computer to another and I managed to do so by copying the logins and Key4 files stored in the profile folder. Now, I am concerned about how easy this process was. Does it mean if my computer is hacked and those 2 files stolen, anyone will be able to access all the websites where I am registered?

Thank you

Hi Andrea, your concerns are well founded. You need to use a Firefox feature called the Primary password to further encrypt the passwords in the logins.json file. This needs to be applied to each Firefox installation individually, since that password isn't stored anywhere and does not Sync.
