How can I migrate only some of my Apple Mail?

I am separating my personal email from my work email, so I want to migrate some of my Apple Mail accounts to Thunderbird, and leave the rest in Apple Mail. The instructions show that all of the Apple Mail will be imported, and I really, really don't want that—there are 17 accounts in total, and importing and then deleting the unused ones would take hours.

I'm running Mojave 10.14.6.

You could try this: export a folder from Mail to a .mbox folder, and inside find the mbox file that can be copied into the Local Folders directory in TB:
