I want to migrate from PC to MAC, but can no longer access PC. Can I access account any other way, or can I download a separate version onto the MAC?

I used Thunderbird for a couple of years on a windows PC, which slowly died, and I no longer can get it to turn on. I now work on a MAC. Do I need to access the PC to migrate the account to the MAC? If so, and that's not an option, can I download Thunderbird onto the mac and then reconnect with all the email addresses I was putting into Thunderbird? Those emails are from gmail and my own website.

Someone told me vehemently not to download a second Thunderbird so I have not done that.

Thank you!

Walt

The only copies of what is on your computer are in your computer. There is no cloud copy, if that is what you are asking.

Usually when a computer dies, the hard disk itself is not dead and for a small fee a technician can remove it and put it in a USB enclosure so you can access the data it contains. But exactly what the situation is I can only guess.
