Thank you! A great piece of software.

I am using Thunderbird as a way to verify that IMAP is working properly on several accounts, however those accounts are actually being worked through different software and so I want: - Thunderbird to pull in messages by UID regardless of read/unread status on parent account. - Thunderbird must not mark messages as read on parent account. - When deleting messages from Thunderbird, it shouldn't do anything to the original message in the parent account, just remove the message from Thunderbird.

Essentially, from the perspective of the parent account I dont want Thunderbird's presence felt or seen at all. I'd like to be able to clean Thunderbird out without accidentally deleting messages from the parent account. Reading messages or pulling them in must not mark messages as read on the parent account. Etc.

Please advise.

You might get something similar to what you want with POP. But seriously IMAP is synchronized. How do you think you can change things in a synchronized environment without the synchronization I do not know.
