How do I delete a gmail alias for someone else?

more options

I have a friend who uses ymail. Let's say his name is Joe Smith. For years when I type the beginning of his email address in the "to" field, "Joe Smith" comes up. Within the last month however, when I type in his email address, a new name is coming up. It is apparently an alias he uses elsewhere - it has pulled it in from a service other than ymail and populated my gmail with it.

Now if I reply to his emails, his proper name still shows. But if I type it in fresh, it shows this alias. I'd like to make my gmail stop putting that alias in for his name.

Thanks!
