Firefox does not stop loading even after the site is loaded and continues as if it is still loading. I have clocked it to 15 minutes, why?

You can press the ESC key or click the Stop button on the right end of the location bar to stop the page loading.
If you do not have the Stop button, but see the reload button then the page has finished loading and something else is wrong.

This issue can also be caused by an extension that isn't working properly.

Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

I do have a stop button, and it does stop, but after a minute it starts up again. It is irritating and am thinking not using this browser any more...

Did you try Save mode ?

It is possible that one of the extensions is causing it.
