When I launch Thunderbird 91.11. from my Windows 10 Desktop Computer and try to send an outgoing email, a box appears with the following.

“Send Message Error”

An error occurred while sending Mail; “Outgoing Server (SMTP) Error. The Server Responds:EHLO47.134.98.161 Blocked. Please see https://www.spectrum.net/support/internet/understanding-email-error-codes for more information. AUP#Out-1080

“When I launched the web address I get Spectrum Support Page Understanding Email Error Codes When I select the code 1080 here’s what I get. 1020 – 1080 The email account has been limited access to send emails based on suspicious activity. Blocks will expire based on the nature of the activity. If you’re a Spectrum customer contact us to remove the block.”

I have talked with Spectrum support on three different days and each time I they me checked to make sure my Thunderbird Setting are what Spectrum lists.

Spectrum tells me that is this a Thunderbird problem and to sent you the Spectrum settings that they require. Spectrum Email Server Settings You can set up Spectrum email on your cell phone, laptop or other mobile devices. To get started, make sure you have the following settings: • Username: Your full Spectrum email address • Password: Your Spectrum email password • SSL: On • Protocol: IMAP • Port: 993 • Port: 587 • Requires Authentication: Yes, or checked You'll also need to enter your Incoming Email Server and Outgoing Email Server. These will vary based on your domain (your domain is what comes after the @ symbol, such as charter.net). Find your domain name below to learn your server settings: Server Settings Based on Domain (@example.com) Charter.net • Incoming Email Server: mobile.charter.net • Outgoing Email Server: mobile.charter.net

I can log into Spectrum.net (Charter email) directly and send outgoing email with errors.

Also as a test, installed Thunderbird 102.0.2. on my Windows 10 Notebook. The results are the same I can receive all incoming emails, but all outgoing emails are blocked with the same code 1080.

Thank you for your time. Baron Poole [email protected] [email protected]

Funny how spectrum limits your ability to send mail on their server and then send you somewhere else to look for answers as to why they did that.

My guess is you have been sending a lot of email over a short period of time,or perhaps using BCC without a TO address (that sends some of the idiot spam scanners nuts, like the one at Yahoo) but all I or anyone other than Spectrum can do is guess. They are the ones sending you the message and also the ones writing the information on their web page. Clearly you are connected to their server or it would not be bouncing your mail.

Perhaps ask to speak to someone in their level 2 support as the script readers apparently have not managed to accept their employer (spectrum) is the one doing this. Ask them to do what they say they will do on the web site vis "If you’re a Spectrum customer contact us to remove the block."

They do appear historically to have a lot of issues with old charter customers, so I am guessing grandfathered things are not really being considered and tested properly.
