In addition, T'bird appears to no longer display Unsubscribe links. How can I unsubscribe from certain regular emailers?

display the unsubscribe links where? They should be part of the body of the email.

Hi Matt, Thanks for your reply, but I had two questions. Firstly, when compacting folders, T-bird 68.2.2 (running under MAC OS Catalina) appears to move all emails in my Inbox to Trash. Why? Secondly, unsubscribe links no longer seem to be appearing in the body of emails in my Inbox. Again, why? Regards, Bruce Perrin, Australia.

and I asked for clarification. instead I got a reply complaining about me not answering your imap question. To that I have no idea. Is it a bug? I think it probably is,

I filed this related bug https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1512080

This one is still ongoing. https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=536447 It has been raised in priority, and probably describes your situation with IMAP.

Unsubscribe information is shown in the message pane where is is included in the email header such as shown below.

But that has remained unchanged since V3. So is unlikely to be what you are talking about

As for what is displayed in the body of email, I suggest you refer your questions to those sending the emails. That is unless you can be more specific, like providing a sample email with an unsubscribe link in the body that Thunderbird is not displaying. The unsubscribe links on the footers of my Yahoo mailing lists still appear, as do unsubscribe links in other commercial rubbish that appears in my inbox. So please be specific.
